SIELE: International Spanish Language Assessment Service

The Gran Canaria School of Languages is an authorised center for the SIELE examinations in Las Palmas.

WHAT IS SIELE?

SIELE certifies the degree of proficiency for the Spanish language with four tests: Reading and listening comprehension, Written expression and interaction and Spoken expression and interaction; the exam also takes as a reference the levels established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The certificate is valid for two years.

It is promoted by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Buenos Aires. These institutions guarantee the standards for quality and good practices in the creation of the tests and the use of diverse linguistic varieties in the Hispanic world.

• YOU DONT'T FAIL THE TEST: SIELE certifies whatever degree of proficiency of the Spanish language you have.

• DIGITAL: paperwork is performed electronically (registration, reservation, communication) with a SIELE examination center through a booking system.

• QUICK AND FAST: within three weeks you will receive an email confirming that your certificate or the results report in your personal area is available.

• ADAPTABLE: different exam modalities are available to attend to different needs.

• UNIFORM: it is panhispanic and includes different linguistic varieties of Spanish.

• FLEXIBLE: Exams are held at our school any day throughout the year. You choose the type of exam.

• HOW TO SIGN UP:
  

  1. You must sign up on the SIELE page. Click here to sign up.

  2. Chose the type of exam. There are two ways of registering to take the SIELE exam:
     OVERALL EXAM:
      READING COMPREHENSION
      LISTENING COMPREHENSION
      WRITTEN EXPRESSION AND INTERACTION
      SPOKEN EXPRESSION AND INTERACTION
     EXAM in skill-focused BLOCKS:
      READING COMPREHENSION +LISTENING COMPREHENSION
      READING COMPREHENSION +WRITTEN EXPRESSION AND INTERACTION
      LISTENING COMPREHENSION +SPOKEN EXPRESSION AND INTERACTION
      SPOKEN EXPRESSION AND INTERACTION
     

  3. Select the date when you would like to take the test.

• HOW TO TAKE THE EXAM: The chosen modality is taken at a SIELE examination center that fulfills the established requirements. You must bear in mind the following general aspects:
  Credentials:
  To ensure that the process goes smoothly, it is very important for you to show up at the center 15 minutes before the exam. Make sure to bring the same official identity document that you used for the registration process at siele.org.
  Examination posts:
  After you have verified your identity at the reception desk, someone will show you to the examination post, where you will have a specific computer and browser. The welcome screen will prompt you to input your login information (e-mail address and password used when registering at siele.org).
  Time available:
  By doing the SIELE Global exam, you will have a total of 15 minutes break between the CA and EIE tests. When you return from your break you need to sit on the same seat you where assigned from the beginning.

• INFORMATION ON RESULTS: In no more than three weeks, you will receive an email notification telling you that your results are ready. You will then be able to access www.siele.org to find out your results and download a certificate or report, depending on the mode chosen.
  Upon completing the SIELE Global exam, you shall receive a globally recognized certificate, with a validity period of two years, which includes per-test scores and a CEFR level equivalence and a numerical score of 0 to 1000 representing the sum of each test.
  Upon completing a SIELE INDEPENDENT TEST, you receive a report with a validity period of two years, which includes your test score(s) and their corresponding CEFR level equivalence.
